- Utilising technology to create higher skilled employment for the retention and attraction of young people
- Maximising the participation of women and increasing the number of 45+ year olds in the workforce (including disadvantaged and socially excluded groups)
- Enhancing the competitiveness, quality of employment and community pride of the horticultural sector
- Promoting up-skilling, learning, entrepreneurship in the industry and community
- Building upon the positive images and initiatives being created for the food and horticultural sectors

The total Lincolnshire Fenland LEADER+ funding
package amounts to £4million.
£1.8 million from LEADER+
(EAGGF)
£880,000 from DEFRA - A source of match funding
The balance
to be met from public and private sources

How long will the programme last? |

The programme runs to 2008. The final date for
approving projects is Dec 31st 2006.

Local Action
Group
LEADER+ is delivered by the Lincolnshire Fenland Local
Action Group. All members of the LAG (currently 28) are drawn from community
and voluntary organisations, public bodies, local authorities and businesses
that are active in the area. The current chairperson is David Norton, Chief
Executive of Springfields, Spalding. Other members include, the WI, Young
Farmers and local growers.

Who can
apply?
LEADER+ is an opportunity for anyone (individuals,
community groups, businesses and other organisations) within the Lincolnshire
Fenland LEADER+ area to apply for funding to develop plans for their community
and to turn their project ideas into reality.
All project ideas will be
considered on their merits and overall contribution to the aims of the
Programme. In particular we would like to see projects ideas that are ambitious
but achievable, original and innovative.

area includes all the SHDC parishes and three Boston Borough Council
parishes.
